Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and the Balochistan Sports Secretary Imran Gichki has discussed the staging of 34th National Games in Quetta this year, during his visit to Olympic House, Lahore.
34th National Games 2021
The National Games of Pakistan is a multi-sport event held in Pakistan. It comprises various disciplines in which sportsmen from the different teams participate against each other. The games are organized by Pakistan Sports Board, Pakistan Olympic Association and the host province.
This year the Games will mark its 34th edition, which is being planned to be held in Quetta.
The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and the Balochistan Sports Secretary Imran Gichki has discussed the staging of 34th National Games in Quetta this year, during his visit to Olympic House, Lahore.
A presentation was given to Mr. Imran Gichki giving a short brief of National Games history. Mr. Imran Gichki was ensured that Pakistan Olympic Association will provide every kind of support to Balochistan in organising the 34th National Games in Quetta this year for which proposed dates to be given by Balochistan Olympic Association in coordination with the Government of Balochistan.
A Venue Committee of POA will visit Quetta on the invitation of Government of Balochistan and Balochistan Olympic Association to oversee the preparation plan, availability of infrastructure facilities, and adequate competition equipment for holding the 34th National Games in Quetta.
The Venue Committee after its inspection will present its report to Pakistan Olympic Association and a final date for holding the 34th National Games in Quetta in 2021 will be decided and announced keeping in view the international sporting calendar.
In 2019, Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) shifted the National Games 2019 from Quetta to Khyber Paktunkhwa after taking the nod from its general body while in 2013, Quetta wanted to organise the games, but despite being given a good number of chances by the POA, the province failed to hold the games.
